Hello ,

As you may have already noticed economic activity is growing again and faster than expected, whereas simultaneously more and more shortages are hitting countries around the world (electricity, electronic components, wheat, to name only a few…).

As the end of 2021 approaches, you are probably wondering if people really understand that GDP growth is the source of the problem. How can a narrow, simplistic economic indicator be presumed relevant for our complex biosphere ecosystem? Now imagine how your country, your company or even your family could work if they had to follow social, environmental and happiness indicators? Take a minute to think about it...

Of course, everything could be totally different. Changing the main goals of a system is one of the best ways to redesign a system: one of the tools you will get in the Master Circular Design online course.
The good news is that more and more people realize the deceit and illusion of growth-centric economic models, even Nobel Prize laureates try to explain this.
You’ll see these changes coming sooner than you expect, believe me.

Freshwater Stress and Challenges

Achieving sustainable management of water resources

Managing water resources has become one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. This precious resource is closely linked to global warming, food security, energy, health and equality.

Two new reports from the FAO, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, that were presented during the World Water Week last August, reveal an urgent warning on the need to use water in a more rational and responsible way. Our agricultural system in particular is very harmful for water resources as indeed, agriculture is the largest water user worldwide, accounting for 70% of total freshwater withdrawals. This over-extraction of fresh water by agriculture but also by industrial activities is causing the decline of our ecosystems and is at the origin of many economic and social inequalities.

"Blue gold" is a priceless commodity, which must be preserved and be fairly distributed. To do so, governments, communities and businesses need to radically change their water resource management and set up more resilient systems. Companies, such as Aquassay, have specialized in optimizing water efficiency at an industrial level...
